School of Economics: Visits enterprises in Yiwu to extend greetings to students of the second phase of the Digital Trade Practical Training Program

During the summer vacation, Xie Fang, Dean of the School of Economics, and Li Guanghui, Vice Dean, visited Yiwu K World Import And Export Company in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, to extend their regards to the students of the second phase of the Digital Trade Practical Training Class who were undertaking internships, and to conduct in-depth research on the effectiveness of school-enterprise cooperation and talent cultivation.

Xie Fang and his delegation held a discussion with the company’s management. Both sides engaged in practical exchanges on school-enterprise cooperation, including course training, graduation projects, and dual-teacher training, reaching several consensuses on deepening industry-education integration and improving the quality of collaborative education. The company representatives highly praised the students’ positive attitude, solid professional skills, and excellent character, commending their outstanding adaptability and teamwork, which injected new vitality into the company. They also expressed confidence in deeper and more multi-faceted cooperation in the future.

Students in the second cohort of the Digital Trade Practical Training Program generally expressed that the on-the-job training not only deepened their understanding of the industry but also significantly enhanced their practical and collaborative abilities, giving them greater confidence in their future development. After gaining a thorough understanding of the students’ internship content, schedule, overall performance, and logistical support, the college listened attentively to their internship experiences and difficulties, coordinating solutions on-site and emphasizing adherence to regulations and safe internship practices. Upon learning that some students had successfully secured contracts within just one month of their internship, Xie Fang expressed satisfaction and encouraged everyone to cherish the opportunity, remain proactive, ask questions, work together, and strive to improve their professional skills and overall qualities.

It is understood that this Digital Trade Practical Training Program consists of 21 students from the 2022 cohort of International Economics and Trade majors. They will undergo a six-month internship in Yiwu, systematically training in five core areas, including “customer development and maintenance” and “digital trade customer negotiation,” comprehensively strengthening their practical skills and job competence in the digital trade field, laying a solid foundation for their future employment and career development.
